In addition to having never won the Ohio championship before, there was also something else that WK had never done in its 17-year history — beat state power Upper Arlington. Well the Wolves (21-2) exorcised two demons in 2009, claiming their first state title and also beating UA. Twice. The second came in the state final as WK rallied from a third quarter deficit to win 7-6.
